what it does for you
openai’s codex cli, headless: one codex process per turn, resumed into a single thread. the runner downloads the pinned codex on a colony’s first boot, so nothing needs to be installed in advance.
what it needs
- an openai api key, saved as the colony secret CODEX_API_KEY; a chatgpt sign-in does not work
how to turn it on
settings → modules → agent: choose codex, then add the key.
how far it has been tested
covered by tests; it has not yet run a real colony with the fetched binary.
